A DRIVER has been arrested after colliding with bollards outside an Asda store.

Police began pursuing a grey Astra after being informed that a vehicle had made off from Asda in Burnden Park, having collided with bollards.

Patrols spotted the driver in Parkfield Road, Great Lever, where they said the car was forced to come to a stop after nearly hitting several parked cars.

The driver was arrested. After being taken into custody, he also failed a breath test.

Greater Manchester Police's traffic officers tweeted about the incident at 5pm last night: "One from last night. Reports from Asda at Burnden Park that an Astra had collided with the bollards and made off.

"It was spotted in Parkfield Road, Bolton, by #ME18 it was forced to stop after nearly hitting several parked cars.

"Driver arrested and in custody blew 89! no insurance too #fatal5."

In England and Wales, the alcohol limit for drivers is 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, 35mcg per 100ml of breath or 107mg per 100ml of urine.
