LITTLE treasures experience life as a pirate as they set sail for a week long adventure.
To celebrate the recent Talk Like A Pirate Day, children at Bolton School Nursery dressed up as swashbuckling pirates complete with eye-patches and tricorn hats.
Docked in the nursery garden was a cardboard pirate ship, which they painted in their colours of green and yellow.
And indoors they created their own pirate ships using lots of cardboard boxes and had fun ‘sailing’ them.
The sand tray was transformed into a miniature world of pirates and ships, allowing children create their own role play adventures.
They also created their own treasure maps.
Children had a chance to take part in their own treasure hunt — uncovering speech bubbles containing pirate phrases such as ‘ooh arr’, ‘walk the plank’, ‘shiver me timbers’, ‘aye-aye captain’ and ‘land ho’!
