THE "evening with" event was only the third time Shaun Greenhalgh had stepped into Bolton Library and Museums since his art crimes came to light.

But hopefully it won’t be the last.

Sam Elliot from the museum said:”Many years have passed by since this crime happened, we, including Shaun, are absolutely clear that this was a crime and Shaun did do his time.

“We decided to try to take a sensible approach to how we move forward with the relationship with Shaun. We think as a museum, in a hundred and two hundred years time as people come to see the mummies or a piece of artwork they will also want to know the Shaun Greenhalgh story.

“We think it is our duty as a museum to collect all sides of the story so far we have had the police’s side, the TV side and we should have Shaun’s .”

Shaun said: “I feel very humbled I didn’t expect to be treated like this, I’m very grateful for it truly, it has kind of settle something in my mind that bothered me.”

He added that he deserved his punishment
