A BURGLAR who 'violently' targeted elderly people's houses over the summer has been jailed.

Helen Brown burgled a number of houses in June and July, targeting elderly residents between 77 and 99-years-old with distraction techniques and 'violence', according to police.

The 35-year-old offender, of Cressingham Road, attacked houses in the Lostock, Ladybridge and Deane areas.

Brown was jailed on Monday, sentenced at Bolton Crown Court to six years and nine months in prison after pleading guilty to five residential burglaries and one residential burglary with violence.
