THE class of ‘77 were reunited, many seeing each other for the first time in more than 40 years, as former pupils of Farnworth Grammar School got together to reminisce about their school days.

In total, 16 former classmates met at the King’s Head Tavern in Deane.

The reunion was triggered by David Bloor who was making a visit back home after working for many years in Australia and New Zealand.

Steven Taylor, one of the ex-pupils, said: “Many of us had not seen each other in over 40 years and it was great to catch up again. Five of us had also been school pals in the 1960s at Plodder Lane Primary School and a couple of us even before that at St Germain Street Nursery School.

“We look forward to getting together again when we all turn 70.”

Farnworth Grammar School closed in 1982.
