SPIDERMAN scaled the walls of a pub during Glazebury Scarecrow Festival.
Residents, shops and businesses around the village showed their creativity by dressing their straw men in a range of different outfits.
The George and Dragon pub on Warrington Road had Spiderman and Iron Man climbing the building, while Glazebury CE Primary School also joined in the fun.
Jayne and Keith Roddy’s ‘Scrumping for Apples’ was voted as the winning entry – modelled on Keith’s late uncle John Patrick and his wife Joan.

Reverend Jan Harney from All Saints Church devised the competition.
She said: “The festival was my suggestion as I enjoy seeing them in other villages.
“Moving here made me realise what a warm community there is here, and I wanted people to notice us – it’s a great place to live.
“The goodwill has been amazing and so encouraging.
"Next year, we will do the scarecrow festival in early September and we anticipate lots more residents will join in.”
