LIGHTS are reportedly out in several streets across Bolton, with some neighbourhoods being plunged into darkness just as children head out for Halloween fun.
Street lights are out in several different areas of Bolton, according to local councillors and concerned from the borough.
At least eight reports of street power outages across Bolton are understood have been made to Bolton Council in the last few hours.
Some major routes appear to have been affected along with residential areas, including Chew Moor Lane, Metal Box Way, Corner Brook, Green Smith Way, Bristle Hall Way, Wingates Grove and the Manchester Road portion of the A6, say residents.
There have also been reports of street lights being out in both Harwood and Farnworth.
Concerns have been raised about children trick-or-treating along the roads without lighting, as well as worries about traffic problems due to lack of lighting.
One Farnworth resident, Kirst Read, said: "It's made it so impossible to take my little one trick or treating, very dangerous as well.
"A few people who we have spoken to commented that they wanted to nip out, but didn't feel safe without the street lights and how dark it was."
It is not clear why the street lights have gone out in these areas as of yet.
It is understood that the council will be dealing with the outage.
