A SUCCESSFUL businesswoman is launching a new company helping stressed business people to improve their work and quality of life.

Sharon Bailey built up Bolton company Primecover Insurance from scratch, and as a single mum, to become a large and influential business before selling it two years ago.

For the past 20 years though, she has also taught yoga and runs popular classes in Horwich and further afield in Yorkshire and the Lake District.

Through these, she began to realise that many business executives and staff were stressed and under pressure.

“This can lead to sickness and days off as well as an impaired general quality of life,” said Sharon.

So after working with executives and other people - advising on fitness, general health and managing stress - she decided to create a new business called Get Up and Keep Going.

She carries out her helpful tailored sessions either in central premises or in the workplace, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups as well as with individuals at home.

“I’ve always enjoyed helping people and over the years accrued a large amount of knowledge around health, diet and fitness,” said Sharon, a keen runner, cyclist and swimmer who is currently in training for next year’s Ironman event.

“The company title comes from the fact that I always get up and go for a run, whatever the weather, because I know it’s important for my mind and body.

“I know first-hand about the pressures of business – especially running your own business – and what is needed to help practically to keep people well and happy.”

She currently runs yoga and walking sessions from Horwich Resource Centre involving yoga followed by brunch and then a leisurely walk up to Rivington Pike.

Sharon is also organising yoga and walking weekends at the Saddleworth Hotel in Saddleworth for January and February next year.

“My philosophy is built around mind, body and breath,” she added.

“Most of us need to take a fresh approach to our lifestyles and find ways to really look after ourselves and our wellbeing.”
