Police visited an empty business premises earlier this morning and discovered an extensive cannabis farm with 375 plants.

Greater Manchester Police visited Elliott Street in Tyldesley after discovering from the building owner that people had broken in and changed the locks of the empty premises, which denied him access.

A plant nursery was found in the basement while larger plants were spread across two floors of the building.

The building had been empty for several months, which provided the growers the space to grow the haul.

Greater Manchester Police said: "These sorts of farms are run by organised criminal gangs, so a significant seizure such as this has the result of taking a large source of money out of the pockets of criminals- a positive result for our community."
