To vote in the 2019 General Election you must be registered to vote by midnight on November 26.

You only need to register once, but if you move home you will need to register again using your new address.

All British citizens aged 18 or over can register to vote.

You can register to vote by applying online or by completing a paper form which can be downloaded from the government website.

Alternatively, you can contact the council’s elections office by calling 01204 331248 and ask them to post a form to you.

You will then need to return the completed form to the elections team.

There are many ways to vote. The deadline for a new postal or postal proxy vote and any changes to existing postal votes need to be in by 5pm on the same day.

Deadline to apply for a new proxy vote, except for emergency proxies, is at 5pm on December 4.

Election day is on December 12. Polling booths are open between 7am and 10pm. Counting of votes begin when the polls close.
