A MAN who damaged several cars has been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work. Bolton magistrates heard how Kyle Speight, aged 31, of Blackamoor Road, Darwen, damaged a woman’s window and door at a house in Ingleby Close, Westhoughton, as well as six vehicles including two Mercedes, a Ford Focus, Kia Rio, Fiat Punto and Toyota. Speight pleaded guilty to committing the offences on October 19 as well as using threatening violence and possessing cocaine. Magistrates heard he has a criminal record for damage, at the time he was under the influence of drink and drugs and had caused a disturbance and serious distress to people in the street. He was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and in addition to the unpaid work, must participate in rehabilitation activities for 20 days and 30 days of a relationships programme. In addition, Speight was ordered to pay his victims a total of £2,600 in compensation.

Woman assaulted

A MAN who assaulted a woman and damaged her TV, stereo, fridge and washing machine has been ordered to do 160 hours of unpaid work by Manchester magistrates.

Killian Smith, aged 27, of Nugent Road, Great Lever, pleaded guilty to committing the offences.

In addition to the unpaid work Smith was ordered to participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and told he must pay £500 in compensation.

Drunk and disorderly

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for six months after he admitted being drunk and disorderly in High Street, Bolton, on October 8. At Bolton Magistrates’ Court Musa Patel, aged 35, of Meltham Place, Bolton, pleaded guilty to committing the offence. He was also ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

Conditional discharge for drunken man

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to a conditional discharge for six months after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Fern Street, Bolton, on October 25. Ibrahim Abdullahi, aged 21, of Chetwood Drive, Bolton, was also ordered to pay £106 in costs and charges.

Shoplifter stole coats and whisky

A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for he stole from a Bolton supermarket. David Blake, aged 42, of Queensgate, Bolton pleaded guilty to stealing two bottles of whisky from Morrisons on October 3 and coats, valued at £198 on September 26. Bolton magistrates heard that, at the time, Blake was subject to a suspended prison sentence for interfering with a car. In addition to the jail sentence, Blake was ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.

Woman interfered with cars

A WOMAN has been jailed for12 weeks after she admitted interfering with several cars. Bolton magistrates heard how Victoria Tidy, aged 30, of no fixed address, interfered with a Mercedes, Range Rover Evoque, Vauxhall Corsa and VW Passat on October 3. Tidy was ordered to pay a £122 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned

A DRINK driver has been ordered to participate in six days of rehabilitation activities after she was found to have drunk two and a half times the legal level of alcohol. Victoria McDermott, aged 34, of Colchester Drive, Farnworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offence when she drove a Toyota on Weston Street on October 31. She was banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay £175 in costs and charges.

Food thief fined

A THIEF who stole food worth £20 from Marks and Spencer in Bolton on August 23 has been fined £80. Philip Norris, aged 31, of Cheriton Drive, Breightmet, pleaded guilty to committing the offence and was also ordered to pay £21 in compensation plus £117 in costs and charges.

Drug treatment order

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £50 and ordered him to have treatment for drug addiction after he pleaded guilty to attempting to steal £220 on May 31. Bolton magistrates also ordered Andrew Boyne, aged 40, of Pennine Road, Horwich, to pay his victim £75 in compensation, participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £85 towards prosecution costs.

Pensioner fined

A PENSIONER has been fined £660 by Bolton magistrates after he was found guilty of failing to produce copies of waste transfer notices. Mohammed Akram, aged 72, of Manchester Road, Bolton, had denied committing the offence on July 2 but was convicted following a trial. In addition to the fine he was ordered to pay £1,682.19 in prosecution costs to Bolton Council and a £66 victim surcharge.

Assault man changed plea

A MAN who assaulted a woman on August 19 has been sentenced to a conditional discharge for two years by Bolton magistrates. Raja Ahmed, aged 38, of Parkfield Road, Bolton, initially denied committing the offence but then change his plea to guilty. The court ordered him to pay a total of £420 in costs and charges.
