A TEENAGER was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Culcheth yesterday afternoon.

The 17-year-old girl was involved in a collision with a silver Peugeot car on Common Lane at around 4.45pm on Thursday, November 21.

She was rushed to Salford Royal Hospital by ambulance after suffering serious injuries during the incident, which occurred between the junctions with Twiss Green Lane and Hob Hey Lane.

Common Lane was shut for several hours before reopening shortly before 10.45pm.

Sergeant Andrew Dennison said: “We are currently following enquiries in relation to this collision and are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen it take place or has any information which could help with the investigation.

“I would also encourage anyone who was driving in the area at the time and could have dashcam footage to submit it through to us.”
