CORONATION Street star Helen Flanagan had a festive day out with her children close to her Scotland home.

The 29-year-old former Westholme pupil, who is engaged to Celtic player Scott Sinclair, arrived on a Christmas train on Saturday to mark the return of Santa to Scotland's theme park which is based in Strathclyde Country Park.

The M&D's theme park in Motherwell claims to have Scotland’s largest grotto where children can visit live reindeer and join in on storytelling sessions.

Matthew Taylor, managing director of M&D’s Theme Park, said: “Everyone at M&D’s is always very excited for Christmas and to celebrate, we’re expanding our Santa’s Magical Wonderland offering even more for 2019.

“With opportunities for the children to meet the Father Christmas himself at our grotto and a chance for adults to enjoy our Christmas markets and a skate session on our outdoor ice rink, there’s something for everyone at M&D’s this winter.

“We are also delighted to have added even more autism-friendly sessions this year so everyone can have an unforgettable festive experience.”

Santa’s Magical Wonderland is now open and a full list of dates, times and prices for all activities can be found on the theme park's website.
