THEATRE company The Marco Players is bringing the infamous 1930s murder trial of architect Francis Rattenbury to the stage.

Terence Rattigan's critically acclaimed Cause Celebre opens tonight recounting the 1935 court case in which the victim's wife and her lover found themselves in the dock.

Marco stalwart Peter Haslam is directing the play, something he says he has wanted to do for a long time.

Cause Célèbre opens tonight and runs until Saturday at Stepping Stones Nursery, Chorley Old Road, BL1 6AH.
