Pantomime starts

Bolton Victoria Hall’s pantomime kicks off this weekend as Cinderella begins its run tomorrow. Joseph Purdy Productions, get ready to go on timeless tale as Cinderella heads off to the Royal Ball to meet Prince Charming as he searches to find his one true love. But will everything go to plan or will Cinderella’s evil step sisters Albertina and Halle get in the way of true love’s ‘Happily Ever After’?

With glittering sets, sparkling costumes, the best laughs in town and everything you’ve come to know and expect, this is one pantomime adventure, you don’t want to miss!

Record fair

Vinyl lovers will be getting into the groove this weekend when a popular record fair spins into Bolton.

Dealers laden with thousands of LPs, 45s, EPs and rare CDs will set up stall in Market Place Shopping Centre from 9am on Saturday.

Hundreds of fans are expected to flock to the event, which is run by Glossop-based Premier Music Fairs.

The fair takes place on the ground floor of the Market Place Shopping Centre, from 9am. For information call 07882 809056.

Free Ska show

Andy Ska is a one man multi-instrumentalist presenting a tribute show to all things 2 Tone,ska and reggae. The show features live saxaphone, guitar and vocals as Andy performs songs from Madness, The Specials, Eddy Grant, UB40 and The Lambrettas.

Andy Ska is at Henighans Eat and Drink on Saturday, November 30 at 9pm. Free entry.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Bolton's Little Theatre begins hosting its pantomime on Friday as Jack and the Beanstalk takes to the stage.

Billed as a hilarious take on the well-known fairy story, it features a host of colourful characters to amuse all the ages. Tickets cost £10 with matinee performances starting at 2pm. and evening performances starting at 7pm. Brian Barlow exhibition

Throughout November and December, Harwood Library’s Gallery exhibition will feature an exhibition by renowned local artist Brian Barlow. The paintings of the Bolton area are available to buy and will also appear in the Bolton Hospice Calendar. Please note that the Gallery is on a Mezzanine floor and access is via a spiral staircase.

The exhibition runs until Tuesday, December 31 and The Gallery is open during Harwood Library’s opening hours.

Admission is free.
