BOLTON quiz champ Jenny Ryan made it to the last three of the first Celebrity X Factor - but missed out on a record deal.

Instead reality star Megan McKenna was named the winner of the public vote.

But Jenny's voice - which has surprised and wowed audiences - will still be heard on the X Factor charity single.

Jenny, who stars in ITV quiz show The Chase, was originally snubbed by judges for the line-up for the live shows, despite a stand-out audition in LA.

But after a public outcry, she was drafted back in, alongside other such unlikely performers as newreader Martin Bashir, former footballer Vinny Jones, and Hollywood star Ricky Lake.

On hearing she had missed out on being named the winner, Jenny, who sang Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory on the final show, said: "It's been unbelievable. It sounds corny but I think the real 'x factor' is the friends we made here.

"I couldn't have wished to have been alongside for more deserving finalists.

"Thanks to everyone involved on the show. You've changed my life. Thank you so much."

You can watch Jenny's final performance below.

Megan, who performed her own songs throughout the series, will now get a record contract with Simon Cowell's label as her prize.
