A ROAD in Blackburn will have temporary traffic lights in place while footpath resurfacing work is done.

On Saturday and Sunday, , there will be intermittent closures at Four Lane Ends with four-way traffic signals in place.

A Blackburn with Darwen Council spokesman said the project is set to be completed, with the upgraded light switch-on, for the week before Christmas.

The spokesman said: "The programme of works to complete is as follows, civil Engineering works to foot ways were completed on Friday, November 29.

"Installation of traffic signals, road markings and completion of tactile paving will commence from today.

"Footpath surfacing will follow on the weekend of Saturday 6, and Sunday 7, under four-way temporary traffic lights.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these necessary works."

The bus service 25 to Clitheroe via Lammack and Mellor, 25A Mellor, 45 Preston via Longridge, 10 Lammack and Beardwood, will not be affected, the services will be allowed through the works.

However the council spokesman said services might be delayed.
