A POPULAR Asian wedding venue enjoyed its first open day — with fireworks and Arabian bands galore.

Bolton Excellency opened its doors to about 1,000 visitors eager to see the venue fully rigged out for a wedding.

The open day went on into the evening with a Walima-themed entrance, where a role-playing bride and groom made their grand entrance by driving their car all the way into the royal hall.

This culminated with a firework display as the bride and groom walked down the aisle and onto the dance floor for their first dance.

Turaab Naqvi, the senior manager of Bolton Excellency, said: “The day was a great hit. It was a huge success, we managed to invite a lot of people. I believe around a thousand turned up. They enjoyed the day very much.”

Visitors were greeted at the start of the day with a guest reception at the Persian Suite where welcome drinks and food were made available for sampling, before visitors headed into the coffee lounge area for live music.

There were several bridal entrances throughout the day which were conducted as if it was an actual wedding.

Collaborators Zefaith Haute Couture and Sai Fashions showcased their outfits along with top make-up artists such as Uzma Amir and Hamida.

Additional stalls from other companies offering deals and discounts to the guests.

Mr Naqvi said: “Throughout the day, there was a lot to offer with not only the venue but the services that we do. It was also a chance for everybody to see how much investment we put into the local economy.”

Bolton Excellency has been in operation for the past eight years and further information about its events can be found on their website.
