A MAN has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 for abandoning his car in a pub car park.
Christopher Edward McTernan, of New Line, Bacup, was summonsed to court over the abandoned vehicle, which was left in a public car park opposite the Rose n Bowl pub on Newchurch Road in Stacksteads.
But the 50-year-old man failed to turn up to court and was found guilty in his absence. McTernan was ordered to pay costs and fines totalling £1,235.
The vehicle was a Toyota Yaris, registration number X824 EDB.
He was ordered to pay a £440 fine, £150 legal costs, £425 investigation costs and £220 compensation.
