THE endoscopy unit at Royal Bolton Hospital has received a seal of approval from a national accrediting body.
Following an annual review of its services, the endoscopy unit — where procedures are conducted to examined the inside of a patient's body — has attained all of the standards required by The Royal of College of Physicians Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on on gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy.
The leadership team in the hospital's acute adult division thanked members of the service for their "continued hard work and commitment to high standards."
The endoscopy unit operates seven days a week providing routine and emergency, inpatient and outpatient endoscopy.
A spokeswoman for Royal Bolton Hospital said: "Earlier this year the new endoscopy unit was accredited by JAG, who commended privacy, dignity, and the facilities in the unit. This latest review shows that the service continues to be of the highest quality."
Residents who have received treatment from the team said the accreditation was "well deserved".
Another said: "I have been there twice for treatment in the last 12 months and these guys are brilliant."
