A man has been taken to hospital after a crash on Manchester Road.
A commuter was heading towards Chorley at around 7am this morning when they saw an accident involving a motorbike and a red Toyota.
Passersby stayed on scene to help the biker who had been "thrown" from his bike in the crash.
The man is said to have waited 20 minutes for an ambulance, and had major damage to his leg, which may have been broken.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.14am to reports of a traffic accident.
"A 27-year-old male has been taken to Royal Bolton Hospital."
