A BIN man gave voters in Chester an election-themed alarm call by singing ‘Do they know it’s Brexit time?’ to the tune of the 1984 Band Aid classic.
An amused city resident recorded the mischievous crooner at around 7.30am today (Thursday, December 12) as he and colleagues collected the recycling from homes near Water Tower Street.
He can be heard singing his alternative version of festive favourite ‘Do they know it’s Christmas?’ several times while someone else can be heard declaring ‘We vote Conservative!’
The resident, who sent the Standard her video of the early morning musical, said: “Like the rest of the country I was waking up with absolute dread and fear today but to hear a Bob Geldof Christmas classic interpreted so well by some quick-thinking bin man is absolutely ace – absolute genius!”
