A Detective Constable has been rewarded for his “outstanding” work on a modern slavery investigation.

DC Chris Nield was presented with a Chief Constable’s Commendation on Tuesday December 10 at Hough End, near Trafford.

Assistant Chief Constable Rob Potts presented the award to DC Nield for his work on Operation Helford, an extremely complex investigation that lasted two years.

DC Nield said: “I am honoured to receive such a prestigious award, and proud to be able to celebrate the evening with my family.

“It is such a privilege to be able to leave Greater Manchester Police on such a positive note after serving for 15 years, and I am now looking forward to an exciting future working in Cumbria Constabulary.”
