VEGAN steak bakes have landed in Blackburn - but won’t be available to buy in the town centre for another two weeks.

High-street bakery Greggs put an end to months of speculation by confirming the drop of its Vegan Steak Bake which hits shops across the country this week.

However the savoury treat is currently only available to buy inside service stations at Frontier Park, Eurogarages at the Beehive Trading Park or at the Moto services close to junction 4 of the M65.

They are expected to be rolled out across the rest of the town’s stores over the next two weeks.

Roger Whiteside, chief executive at Greggs, said: “Our Vegan Sausage Roll launch was a huge success and we’ve been working tirelessly to expand our vegan friendly offering and provide more delicious savoury food on-the-go options for people looking to reduce their meat intake.

“The launch of our Vegan Steak Bake is another key milestone on our journey to become our customers’ favourite for food-on-the-go.”
