POUNDLAND is reversing the gender roles this year- by offering a ring specifically for women who want to propose.
The tongue-in-cheek gift will be available in Poundland stores from Monday.
The 'standby engagement ring' is intended for those who want to pop the question on February 29- this leap year.
The ring comes in a blue velvet box for that extra touch of class.
The gift will otherwise be a welcome sight for the budget romantics around.
One person on social media wrote: "Someone get with me so I can propose with a poundland ring on 29th February for bants pls"
Another, perhaps taking it a little too seriously, wrote: "So women want an expensive ring when we propose to them but when they were propose to us we get a Poundland ring."
