TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died after suffering head injuries.

Leon Faulkner died in hospital on Tuesday evening after police and paramedics were called to an incident.

Mr Faulkner was living in Forester Hill Avenue in the Great Lever area.

Detectives investigating his death have arrested four men- aged 20, 35, 39 and 39– as well as a 43-year-old woman.

All five have been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and remain in custody for questioning.

Commenting in a Facebook community group, one person wrote:"One of the nicest person I've ever met. Beautiful soul. Taken far too soon."

Another wrote: "Rest in peace leon, such a wonderful guy absolutely shocked and upset with the news xx"

A third wrote:"Rip Leon, one of nicest lads I've met."

Earlier, Detective Inspector Gareth Davies said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this dreadful time.

“The investigation is in its early stage and we are working hard to provide much-needed answers for the man’s loved ones."
