POLICE are investigating after three children were injured in a collision outside a high school.

Police were called to reports that a car had mounted the pavement outside Upholland High School at around half three yesterday.

The 13 and 14 year olds suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

A 40 year old woman has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.

Police said that they are working closely with the school and that patrols will be increased in the area around school opening and closing times.
