The INQUEST into the death of a "well-loved" dad has opened at Bolton Coroner's Court.

Assistant coroner Rachel Syed heard that Andrew Wallace, 54, was on holiday with his work colleagues in Malaga in November.

The project manager has been out drinking with his colleagues on the evening of November 22, and was reported missing at a police station near the hotel they were staying at in Benalmadena when the group couldn't get in touch with him.

Andrew's body was tragically discovered in the marina early the next morning, and formally identified on December 17.

There are thought to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the dad-of-two's death, and it is believed that Mr Wallace drowned.

His family and friends are currently hoping to raise over £10,000 in his memory for Bolton Hospice with twelve months of challenges.

Kelby Makin, Andrew's nephew, previously told The Bolton News: "Andy always helped raise money for the hospice. Just a week before he died he even donated to them.

"He never got a certificate for it because we always did it as a team, so we'll put his name on it this time."
