A TOWN centre opticians is to close its doors for nine days in order to carry out store repairs.

Vision Express on High Street was one of a number of businesses to be hit by rising flood waters which struck the town in late October.

Damage to the store is said to be extensive, with the entire ground floor and walls being removed and replaced.

A store spokesperson said: “Due to the amount of damage that occurred during the floods in October, we will be closing the store for nine consecutive days from Monday, January 27.

“The damage was extensive and the entire ground floor, including all the walls, needs to be ripped out and refitted.

“We apologise to our patients for the inconvenience but hope you understand.

“On a personal note, I would like to thank our loyal customers for your support and understanding, and I look forward to seeing you in our new shiny store.”

Vision Express is expected to reopen on Thursday, February 6, however work will continue overnight.

Due to the extent of the repairs, no staff are allowed onto the premises and will therefore be unable to answer any phone calls.

Customers are advised to contact Vision Express in Crewe for urgent enquires during the closure.
