THE new Farnworth Post Office will be officially opened on Friday February 7.
The 2pm ceremony will be performed by Bolton South-East MP Yasmin Qureshi.
The original branch in Brackley Street closed on January 4 due to a lack of staff,.
Earlier this month national Post Office basses revealed a new outlet would open this week in the nearby Zam Zam News, also in Brackley Street.
Its opening hours will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturday 9am to 3.30pm.
Lesley McNally, Post Office area change manager apologised for the unplanned temporary closure of the Farnworth branch.
The decision to move the branch came as the existing building was no longer available for Post Office use.
During the closure customers were advised to use alternative branches in New Bury and Highfield.
Farnworth councillor Maureen Flitcroft welcomed the new branch and hoped it would return to being the heart of the community.
