A small, friendly cafe which can get busy, especially at weekends where it might be best to book if you’re looking for a special treat.

This organic establishment specialises in vegan and vegetarian options and the knowledgeable, friendly staff are often praised for the way they deal with customers.

“Everything I’ve had here has been absolutely, amazingly tasty and they know exactly what they are doing with food,” commented one happy diner.

Casalingo, Ainsworth Street, Bury

Italian restaurants are renowned for their family-friendly atmosphere and just down the road from Bolton you’ll find an authentic Italian welcome.

PRAISED by many for its family-orientated approach this touch of the Mediterranean in our midst scores very highly with reviewers.

There is a separate kids’ menu but you suspect most youngsters will want to sample some of the numerous tapas dishes on offer. - perfect for those large, informal family gatherings.

“I been to Tapaz for a few meals with my kids and the staff are always brilliant, commented one happy customer.

Unity Brook, Kearsley

A GOOD old pub meal out has to feature in this list and from your recommendations, the Unity Brook is worth seeking out.

If may not be the most imposing of buildings from the outside but the quality of the home cooked food and the friendly welcome are what counts.

“A proper pub run by good people who served local good people and visitors like us,” was the most recent review.

The menu boasts an astonishing range of alternatives from traditional pub classics through to fish finger butties, burritos and the intriguingly-named Kearsley kebab. Children are made very welcome.
