GREATER Manchester Police have urged people to ensure their cars are locked after “suspicious activity” in Harper Green and Highfield.

The plea was released alongside an image of a man they want to speak in connection to the incidents.

A Facebook post from GMP Bolton South posted yesterday afternoon showed a still from CCTV footage of the man, with officers asking people to contact them directly if they could identify him.

Police went on to say: “Please can we remind the public to lock your cars and remove any items of value and remind family and friends especially those not on social media.”

Anyone who recognises the man should contact or, as officers have also asked people to avoid posting his details on social media.

The warning comes after residents expressed their anger at persistent car crime attempts in Smithills
