SPEED checks are being conducted in Tonge Fold after complaints from residents.
Police have been enforcing the speed limit in Ainsworth Road as part of a campaign in conjunction with residents.
They were joined by members of the local community speedwatch team.
Police community officers have been using a speed gun in the area today to check motorists are keeping within the 20mph legal limit.
GMP Bolton North posted on Facebook at about 1.30pm: "Bolton North neighbourhood team have today been working in conjunction with local residents on a speed watch initiative.
"This was put in place due to complaints of regular speeding in the Ainsworth lane area of Bolton.
"We hope this will help people keep within the speed limit in place."
Tonge Fold Neighbourhood Watch posted on social media: "Thank you for your support today and helping us deal with the speeding motorists in our area. It’s very much appreciated."
Tonge Fold Neighbourhood Community Speedwatch also thanked police for taking action.
