HIGH street retail giant John Lewis has issued a product recall on several items.

Products that have been bought over the past weeks, months, and in some cases years, have been recalled by the company.

Here is a list of some of the items below.

These products were sold between August 2019 and January 2020 from several stores.

A John Lewis and Partners spokesman said: "We're recalling these products as there is a risk of the candle flaring up during use.

"As a consequence, the ignition source may cause a fire or cause burns to the user.

"Please stop using immediately, and return to your nearest John Lewis & Partners shop as soon as possible for a full refund, or to exchange it for an alternative product if you prefer.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this product recall may cause you."

Whirlpool: Hotpoint/Indesit washing machines

The company said the models of Hotpoint involved are WMEF 742P UK, WMEF 722 BC UK, WMAQF 721G UK, WMAQF 621P UK,

XWD 71452X K UK, WMAQF 721P UK.M, WMAQF 641 P UK.M, WMJLL 742P UK, WMJLF 842P UK, WMEF 722 BC UK, with stock numbers including 88932133, 88932223, 88932164, 88932161, 88931901, 88932165, 88932163, 88932101, 88932104.

These products were sold between June 2014 from John Lewis & Partners shops and johnlewis.com.

A spokesman said: "The supplier is recalling these products as there is a potential fire safety risk.

"To check if a washing machine is potentially affected, customers will need both the model number and serial number of the appliance.

"Both of these codes can be found inside the door, or alternatively on a label on the rear of the appliance.

"Please stop using it immediately and contact the supplier via the information below to arrange for the item to be repaired or replaced."

Bose noise-masking sleepbuds

This product was sold since June 2018 from John Lewis & Partners shops and johnlewis.com

A spokesman said: "Bose have taken the decision to discontinue this product, as although the battery functions safely, it does not work as consistently or predictably as it should to meet their standards.

"This results in the noise-masking sleepbuds not fully-charging or powering down unexpectedly.

"Customers should contact Bose who will be able to arrange an exchange or a refund."

iCandy orange and peach 2018 buggy

This affects stock numbers 3142091/02/03/10/20/22/23/25/26/50/55, 31421301/401/501, 31423901, 31422730/31/32.

A John Lewis & Partners spokesman said: "The safety of our customers is very important to us, so we're advising you that iCandy has issued a safety notice for a limited number of iCandy peach and orange styles with bumper bars which are missing a plastic cap.

"This specifically relates to the bumper bars for the styles: iCandy Peach pushchairs (single, double or twin options), second carry cot fabric, second seat unit fabric sold between 1 April 2018 - 30 September 2019.

"It also relates to iCandy orange packs that contain bumper bars (single, double or twin options) sold between 8 May 2019 - 30 September 2019."

The spokesman said: "The missing cap exposes a small hole which may present a possible finger entrapment hazard.

"The hole is visible at the base of the hinge mechanism and is only accessible when the bumper bar has been removed and levered back on one side.

"The bumper bar should have a cap on both ends and this issue could affect both or either end of the bar.

"Please check your product by removing and assessing both sides of the bumper bar.

"If one or both caps are missing, you'll need a replacement bumper.

"A new bumper bar can be ordered by telephoning iCandy customer services or going online."

This affects stock numbers 76770119, 76770140, 76770155, 76770162.

A John Lewis & Partners spokesman said: "The safety of our customers is very important to us, so as a precaution John Lewis & Partners is recalling these products as there is a risk of fire.

"If you have bought one of these items from 1 January 2016 to July 2019 from a John Lewis & Partners shop or johnlewis.com, please stop using immediately, and return it to your nearest shop as soon as possible for a full refund."

Apple Macbook 15-inch pro.

This affects model number A1398.

A John Lewis & Partners spokesman said: "Affected units of this product were sold between September 2015 and February 2017 from John Lewis & Partners and johnlewis.com.

"Eligibility is determined by the product serial number.

"This does not affect other MacBook Pro models.

"Apple is recalling this product as there is a risk that a limited number of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units have batteries that may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.

"Apple is asking customers to stop using affected computers and will replace batteries in affected units free of charge."
