A SECTION of road was temporary blocked off by police during a motorbike ride believed to have been organised in memory of a Runcorn teenager.

Cheshire Constabulary had received reports that off-road motorbikes were being ridden in an anti-social manner.

A police spokesperson said: "The riders are believed to have been marking the birthday of Eddie O'Rourke from Runcorn, who was killed at the age of 18 outside the Halton Royal British Legion on Castle Road near Main Street in September 2018.

"Police found a number of off-road motorbikes being ridden in Main Street.

"For public safety reasons, a section of the road was blocked by the officers and later reopened once all the riders had dispersed.

"The officers present were wearing body-worn cameras, and the footage will be reviewed in a bid to identify the riders of the bikes."
