COASTGUARDS were contacted by police today after reports of a suspected person in the River Dee.
The call was made at 3.28pm today (29 January) from North Wales Police asking for assistance in locating suspected person in the river near Saltney Ferry footbridge.
The D-Class inshore lifeboat was sent out to join police officers and members of both Flint and Wirral Coastguard teams to carry out a search of coastline and river.
After a thorough search nothing was found and all units were stood down.
Bill Dewsbury, Flint RNLI Deputy Launch Authority, said: “We thank the member of the public for reporting their concerns to 999, if you ever see anything or anyone in trouble in the water please don’t hesitate to call 999 and ask for the coastguard”
