THE MANAGER of a recently reopened pub has thanked customers for embracing his business.

The Waggon and Horse, in Chorley Road, Westhoughton, had been intermittently closed for months before it was officially reopened in November last year.

And, manager Derek Miller says the hostelry has received a warm welcome from residents living in the area.

“This pub has struggled in the past but people are now realising the quality that we’ve brought,” he said.

“It’s now a free house, it’s no longer brewery owned and we’re here to stay.

“The bar’s a lot cheaper than it was and people have been commenting on how good our Sunday roast has been.

“I’m looking forward to a long, exciting future here and we hope to see more people coming in to visit.”

Romantic pub-goers can also look out for a new offer on Valentines Day, this Friday, with a three-course meal and a bottle of wine available for £36.95,
