A 47-year-old man is in serious condition following an early morning crash in Bolton. 

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash on Wigan Road shortly before 5.30am today.

Emergency services attended and a 47-year-old man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
 
The driver remained at the scene to speak with officers and no arrests have been made.
 
A number of roads were closed but they have since reopened.
 
Enquiries are ongoing.
