The Bolton Green party has set-up a crowdfunding campaign to help fund its campaign in Bolton.

It is part of a campaign by the party to get its first councillor elected in the town.

A spokesman said: “This money will help cover leaflets and other campaign materials needed.”

For a £50 donation you can receive an invite to join the Bolton Green team at the 2020 Local Election Count.

The crowdfunder is promoted by Alan Johnson on behalf of the Bolton Green Party.

On the Crowdfunder website the party said: "We’re not part of the political establishment. We listen to you. We don't receive big donations from big business, trade unions or wealthy individuals, we rely on regular people like you.

"We are asking for donations to help fund our campaign in Bolton, this money will help cover leaflets and other campaign materials needed to get our message over to residents in Bolton.

"Greens work hard, and one Green in the room can make a big change. Up and down the country Greens have been leading the way on things that really matter. We will save Bolton's green spaces from destruction allowing normal working families to connect with nature and escape the pressures of daily life.

"If you think politics is broken and that things need to change, you can put your trust in us. Green councillors are real change makers and you can be too."
