A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy with severe epilepsy has had his wish to be a fireman come true.
Luke Leigh, from Astley, who experiences recurring seizures, was welcomed to Leigh Community Fire Station by crew members on Sunday.
Due to his condition Luke was referred to Starlight Children’s Foundation, which help to make youngster's dreams a reality.
He is obsessed with being a firefighter and watches Fireman Sam in every language, including Japanese and German.
And every day he asks to go to the fire station as he loves seeing the trucks and hoses in action.
On the day, Luke was presented with his own uniform before lining up with his fellow firefighters "on parade" to be allocated his tasks.
Luke was given a tour of the station but could not wait to get outside and see the trucks and he got to do just that by taking part in a practice drill.
He rode up front in a truck with the lights and siren blaring around the station, before coming to a stop outside a tall building that had smoke coming out of the windows.
Luke came to the rescue and helped to put out the fire with a hose with the help of his fellow firefighters.
Before leaving he was presented with a toy fire truck.
But he did not want to go home and he told every fire station member "I want to stay!"
