A MAN whose alleged naked sunbathing led to a altercation with neighbours has told a jury that he wished he had worn shorts.
Matthew Walmsley is on trial at Bolton Crown Court where he denies exposure, affray and causing actual bodily harm.
Walmsley, aged 36, of Cope Bank West, is accused of sunbathing naked and performing a sex act on himself while in a friend's garden on Good Friday last year.
And when the young woman next door and her father complained he is said to have become violent, throwing objects, including concrete coping from a wall dividing the properties which is alleged to have hit them.

Giving evidence in his own defence Walmsley admitted he was not wearing clothing, instead covering his genitals with his vest but claims the neighbours made up allegations against him because the father became violent towards him first.
In response to questioning from Stephen Tettey, defending, he said the vest covering his genitals must have slipped off while he slept.
"If I thought anything like this would have happened I would have gone and put some shorts on," he said.
The trial continues.
