Local favourites are going one step beyond delivering goods to your door by giving you the tools to make their products yourself.

This is to help those in self-isolation who don't want to risk going out and getting their favourite foods from the shops but instead do it in the comfort of their own home.

Carrs Pasties, a family run bakery based in Bolton, is one of the businesses providing this.

The bakery has three shops in the Bolton area, including the "Bakery shop", in Manchester Road, the "Original shop", in Halliwell road, and the "Market Place" shop, in corporation street.

The company is vowing to deliver frozen products, from pies to pasties and sausage rolls, to postcodes across Bolton, Bury and Manchester.

It will be left on the doorstep so that there are no risks of breaking the social distancing guidelines, while the delivery driver waits in their vehicle to confirm that the customer has collected their order.

Joe Carr, managing director at Carrs Pasties, said: "We just want to help the community where we can.

"We’re working really hard to make plenty of pasties so that we don’t run out and our shops will remain open.

"The delivery service is to help those who can’t get out to their local shops to get food that they need.

"We know it’s a bit of a stressful time for everyone so we want to do what we can to make it that bit easier. We should all be looking after each other.”

The shops on Halliwell Road, Manchester Road, and Market Place will remain open as normal for people to collect fresh and frozen products as normal during this time.

The bakery is also in the process of creating an online shop for people to order their food to be delivered.

These steps have been taken so that the company can "ensure to keep customers and employees safe".

Joe Carr said: "We always have excellent hygiene standards and will continue to keep this up to protect everyone.

"We are encouraging customers to pay using contactless payment in the shops where they can too.”

Carrs will be providing this delivery service six days a week and aim to deliver all orders made within 48 hours.

The delivery service will be available for all Bolton postcodes.

As well as Bolton, Carrs are offering to deliver to Manchester postcodes including; M26, M27, M28, M29, M38 and M46.

Delivery times are subject to availability.

At the moment, delivery requests must be placed over phone on 01204 387 117.

Carrs says this is available to any "customers who are unable to get to local shops to get food".

Unlike most delivery services Carrs are offering the delivery of their products for free.

However, there is a minimum order of 12 pasties.

Payment must also be made over the phone before the delivery to guarantee getting the product.

Carrs posted on their social media "we are making plenty of pasties and won't run out so that we can still feed the people of Bolton".

"We are doing our best to work together as one big Bolton family."
