A SINGER-songwriter has amassed hundreds of thousands of views on Twitter after sharing adorable videos of him playing music to his six-month-old son.

Ryan Jarvis, 25, has uploaded several videos of him singing hits such as Sally Cinnamon, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Sit Down to cute little Teddy Gene.

Ryan, who lives in Smithills with his fiancee Victoria, said that he uploaded the videos to "put a smile on people's faces" amid the coronavirus crisis and lockdown.

He said: "It is something we do all the time and I am always singing to him. Sometimes he pays attention- sometimes he doesn't, but we thought we'd just record it to share to a few of my followers.

"People like music and most people like babies so I just thought I would do it on a whim to see if people enjoyed it."

The videos have amassed hundreds of thousands of views and countless retweets and likes on the social media platform, with Ryan uploading a video a day as part of his social distancing, which has seen him cancel live performances.

His clips have seen the likes of former footballer Gary Neville and Line of Duty star Craig Parkinson retweet and comment on the videos.

Courteeners frontman Liam Fray, who Ryan has supported in the past, also posted to say that he loved it, calling Teddy Gene a "dude".

Ryan added: "I have had hundreds of messages from people all over the world and have had loads of new followers.

"But the main reason for the videos was to cheer people up and put a smile on people's faces, so I'm glad it has."

Ryan is planning on live-streaming a performance this Friday at 7pm, where he has said he might even bring Teddy Gene in for a special guest appearance.

The stream is a makeshift replacement for what would have been the final date of Ryan's tour- which has been postponed until September.

Two free tickets for the rescheduled gig are also to be given away during the stream.

The live-streamed performance can be watched on Ryan's page here, where any information on upcoming performances can also be found.
