Advice from the government and the emergency services is to only travel if you must for essential reasons, with roads expected to be much quieter for the next few months.

However, if you must travel, here are the roadworks to look out for on Bolton's roads this week.

Temporary traffic lights are expected to cause high traffic disruption in Egerton from April 1 to April 3, in Blackburn Road, next to the Cross Guns inn.

Repairs to telecoms from Virgin Media are responsible for this.

In Westhoughton temporary traffic lights are going to cause delays for over a week, starting Friday April 3, with a high disruption predicted by the council.

Cadent gas are responsible for this as they look to lay a new gas main in the road.

A contraflow system is being put in place on Moss Bank way to make room for network provider EE to install 5g into the area.

This is expected to last all week from Monday March 30 to Sunday April 5; however, it is not expected to cause severe disruption to traffic.

These are subject to change.
