A MAN has admitted punching a nurse, fracturing his cheekbone in the A&E department at Salford Royal Infirmary
The victim, a man in his 50s, was punched in the face, causing the injury, just before 1.50pm yesterday (Sunday).
Daniel Shevlin, 27, of no fixed abode, was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm and one count of section 4a of the Public Order Act.
At Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today he pleaded guilty to committing both offences and District Judge John Temperley adjourned the case for sentencing to take place at Manchester Crown Court on April 27.
Shevlin was remanded in custody in the meantime.
The NHS staff member – a man in his 50s – required treatment for the fractured cheekbone but has since been discharged.
