Surveying the damage on Stansfield Street, Darwen, after a German bombing raid in October 1940. Four bombs fell with Hollins Paper Mill and Woodfold Mill believed to have been the targets. Houses on Alice Street and Police Street were also damaged and several casualties were reported although only one person required hospital treatment.
