Four people managed to escape from a house fire this morning in Whitefield, Bury.
The fire started at around 1am, on Thursday 2 in Wenning Close. Two of the people who escaped the fire were children.
Three fire crews attended the incident, and the fire was put out within a few hours. No one was injured in the blaze.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service said: "At 00:58am on 2 April fire engines from Bury, Whitefield and Broughton attended an incident on Wenning Close, Whitefield to a fire involving a ground floor outhouse and gable end of a domestic property.
"Four casualties were self rescued prior to arrival of fire service. Crews used hose reel, jet, positive pressure ventilation fan and lighting and were detained approximately two hours."
Watchmanager Cheverton at Whitefield fire station said: "Don't leave tumble dryers on when you go to sleep or leave the house, always plug them into the wall socket and not into an adapter as they can overheat easily."
