A DRIVER who continued travel in a lane marked with a red X has been issued with a TOR — traffic offence report — motorway police said.
North West Motorway Police released details of the alleged breach yesterday.
It comes just weeks after 62 drivers ignored a full lane closure indicated by a large red X after a wagon broke down on the same motorway.
Posting on Twitter, North West Motorway Police said: "The driver of this vehicle issued a Traffic Offence Report after being observed breaching red X's on the M60. #FATAL5"
Drivers who ignore lane closures on motorways marked with a red X will face a £100 fine and three penalty points.
Motorists who see a red X above a lane should move into another lane as soon as they can.
