FIGURES show 11 more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Bolton.

The new statistics from Public Health England, released this afternoon, show that 80 people in the borough have tested positive for COVID-19 since Thursday.

It comes on the back of Bolton seeing their biggest day-on-day increase in the number of coronavirus cases the previous day when 18 more people test positive on 2 April and the total stood at 69.

Elsewhere, Bury now has broken through the 100 barrier with 102 recorded cases.

According to Public Health England there were 4,450 new cases of coronavirus recorded in the UK on Thursday.

This brings the current total number of people testing positive for the virus to 38,168 cases .
