BOLTON South East MP has been appointed Shadow Minister for International Development by new Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer.
Ms Qureshi said she was excited to be taking on the role, a field in which she has experience in.
She was previously the Shadow Minister for Justice, a position she had held since 2016.
Her new role comes just weeks after she expressed an interest in becoming the chair of the International Development Select Committee.
She told The Bolton News: "I think after that they knew I had an interest in this area.
"I am really excited about the new role, until now I have been Shadow Minister for Justice for four yearsI and I was barrister by profession."
"I have worked in this area, having been part of the UN mission in Kosovo following the conflict to help set up the judicial system so I have done development work."
